This Sunday marks the end of our church year and the date of our annual meeting. The meeting will attend to business: budgets, leadership, and such. Beforehand, during the regular service time, we seek congregational input on questions like “what do you value in our church life?”, “what might we change to do our work better?”, and “are we helping each other in our personal journeys towards wholeness and fulfillment?”. So, it will be a little bit like a regular service leading into discussions and brainstorming. Bring your observations, ideas, and most importantly, your spiritual needs to church with you this day, as creativity and candor are the call.
Childcare is available during this service. Older children are invited to stay for the service if they wish.
The Beverly Unitarian Church welcomes people of every religious background, race, ethnicity, age, gender, and sexual and affectional orientation.

July 5 – U.S. Independence Church Picnic, 10:30 AM
BUC will hold a 4th of July picnic on Sunday morning rather than a traditional worship service. The worship committee will provide a
grill, hot dogs and buns, and an array of beverages. Others are asked to bring whatever they want, and hopefully, a pot-luck dish for sharing. Fun and frolic to kick off the summer on our beautiful grounds.
July 12 – Our Unitarian Faith Today Rev. Allen Harden
This sermon is sort of an intro UU piece with hopefully no more than 5 minutes on history and 5 minutes on traditions. Mostly what I want to think about is what we really are today. Are we special? We know we are justice-seeking people, we know we like gathering in community to sing, think, and eat, but what do we need to be to serve inner needs of ourselves and others?

Michelle Mascaro and Marylee Donnelly will conduct the service using the “lessons and carols” format - with music, singing, short
readings, and meditations. We will explore together what it means to pray, why pray, and why song is prayer’s important vehicle.
Guest Speaker Bio: Michelle Mascaro lives in Oak Park with her wife, Corynne and their three adult children.
From 2000 to 2008, they were members of BUC. Michelle still finds her heart leading her back to BUC.
