A full house enjoyed the second annual Chili Cook-off this month sponsored by the Women of the Castle. Five contestants offered their chili and when the votes were counted Laura Amaro’s spicy beef chili was the winner. Congratulations, Laura!

Our beloved member, Tony Thompson, died last week. Our condolences to his wife, Claudine, and extended family. A memorial honoring Tony is scheduled for Saturday, March 15 at Leak & Sons Funeral Home at 18400 South Pulaski Road in Country Club Hills. The new Literati Book group is focused on building diverse, equal and inclusive discussions. For the first monthly meeting, attendees read Timothy Snyder’s “On Tyranny”. Books are chosen by vote.
