10:30 am: Sunday Morning Service, April 28, 10:30 AM10:30 am: Sunday Morning Service, April 28, 10:30 AM – A Reconsideration of White Supremacy Culture Rev. Allen Harden I believe that we live in a “White Supremacy Culture”, and that I, and most of us, benefit from the structural elements of racism that are embedded in American life. I also know that some of you would question this assertion. Let me describe what I see, and then we can examine whether our differences involve words or bigger ideas. Does the nature of racism in our community and our nation influence how we might approach racial differences in opportunity? Fourth Sunday offering for migrant support. Please use check memo line. We'll be meeting in person AND streaming live on Zoom. |

10:30 am: Sunday Morning Service10:30 am: Sunday Morning Service – The Ties that Bind Rev. Allen Harden I deeply feel that our connectedness is fundamental to all that we are. No one thrives alone, and in my view, our images of self, our moral guides, and even our spirituality emerge only through our experience of relationships. Most faith traditions counsel us to live in “right relation” with all others, emphasizing the importance of love and compassion in guiding our affairs. Indeed, this is how we find meaning, purpose, and build effective religious community.

10:30 am: Sunday Morning Service10:30 am: Sunday Morning Service – Mother’s Day Rev. Allen Harden We honor those among us who are mothers, and those among us who have mothers. What makes more sense than to have a man opine on this most essential human role and relationship? While the biology of motherhood is pretty well understood, many of the cultural expectations of women who bear children are changing. Gendered roles have become less fixed in recent years, as women push against traditional constraints that bound them to “home and hearth”. We will think about mothering and being mothered. Second Sunday offering for migrant support. Please use check memo line. We'll be meeting in person AND streaming live on Zoom. Sanctuary

10:30 am: Sunday Morning Service10:30 am: Sunday Morning Service – Flower Communion Marylee Donnelly Flower Communion was originally created by Czechoslovakian Unitarian minister, Norbert Capek in 1923. You are invited to bring your own flowers. As you enter the sanctuary, please place flowers in vases at front. During the service we will proceed forward where we choose a flower, then exchange with a neighbor. This symbolic gesture brings us soulfully and spiritually together as we celebrate spring's rebirth within us and the world at large. We'll be meeting in person AND streaming live on Zoom.
