Stewardship Sunday: An appeal to choose us!                                             Rev. Allen Harden

I will discuss what we are as a church community and what we expect to be and to do as a church. We are asking you to pledge to support our programs, and I remind you that this is something we do because it is what we want. This church practices personal growth and formation and promotes social action and transformation.
Helping us remain vital requires the effort and the financial support of all of us.

We'll be meeting in person AND streaming live on Zoom.

We're gearing up for the church stewardship campaign, with this year's theme being "Thrive." The campaign kick-off will be on Sunday, April 7th. Please join us for a meal after the service, and even a harmonica tune or two from Jeff Pinzino. As you may know, we've lost several pledging members in the past few months. If you are able to increase your pledge this year, it would help us to keep pace for the coming year. If you've never thought of yourself as one of the "stalwarts" in the congregation, now's your chance to become one. We're grateful for whatever you can give. Click this link to make your pledge.

Sorry I'm Late, I didn't Want to Come (Jessica Pan) An introvert spends a year trying to live like an extrovert with hilarious results and advice for reading along the way. -The Publisher

     Upcoming selections:

May 13 - Vera Wong's Advice for Murderers (Jess Q Sutanto) Following the success of Dial A for Aunties, Sutanto is back with another charmer, this time following the exploits of orthopedic-sneaker-wearing Vera Wong ZhuZhu, who finds a dead body in her Chinatown tea shop. When the police investigation isn't thorough enough for her liking, she concocts a plan to find the murderer, aided by a locked flash drive she found on the body and stashed away for safekeeping. Sutanto excels at skewering with affection, and an earnest hilarity shines through in this entertaining who-dun-it. -The Washington Post

June 10 - Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland (Patrick Radden Keefe) From the author of Empire of Pain--a stunning, intricate narrative about a notorious killing in Northern Ireland and its devastating repercussions.

    In good reading,
