Our political leadership is gutting the social safety network at the same time it offers tax cuts to billionaires.  This affects the lives of real people.  In a world lacking grace, what can we do to stand in solidarity with the people who have been cast aside and those who are being persecuted?  One thing we can do is offer our friendship -- not pity but friendship.  Marcia offers her reflections on the challenges and rewards of cross-class friendships.
