Giving is a holy act. Jeff Pinzino will share reflections on how he's found the divine through a life of asking and giving, from his work in fundraising to his kidney donation to the church's recent support of the migrants at the police station.

On several occasions, I have suggested that we promote our shared values by taking positions on issues active in our community. I floated a banner as one idea, and have gotten wise feedback from some of you. I want to start this conversation anew. What decisions do we draw from our values about issues like climate, race, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ issues, immigration, guns, voting rights, and other ssues that we hold as important. Should we be public, and if so, how might they best be articulated.

I really need to believe in stuff... like the goodness of people, justice, hope. The problem is that I'm not very good at it. Often, I think that we are all just doomed. My sermon will be a collection of stories and crazy ideas (most of which I figured out in the middle of the night when I needed to be sleeping) that help me to stop feeling that all is lost. They help me to get up and try to connect with people instead of hiding under the bed.
