Religious Education

As Director of Religious Education at Beverly Unitarian Church, I welcome you to our website.    Finding the right religious education program for your child involves asking a lot of questions.    I hope you will join us to see if Unitarian Universalist religious education is the answer for you and your family!   In our program, we engage the children’s spirit, imagination, and sense of curiosity.  We teach our children that all big questions have many answers.   Our small classes give many opportunities to address the needs of your child.  We invite you to come meet with us or attend a class with your child and see what we are all about!

The children’s program at Beverly Unitarian Church teaches preschool through eighth graders about what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist, including respect for the worth and dignity of all people and the interdependant web of life.   (Informatinon about the curricula being used this year can be found under the "Religious Education" drop-down menu near the top of the web page.)  The morning begins at 10:30 in the church sanctuary where children attend the beginning of the worship service with their families.  Typically, a Time for All Ages story is told before the congregation sings a round of Go Now in Peace as the children leave for their classes in the school building adjacent to the church sanctuary.   Children under five can be brought to our nursery before the worship service begins.  Nursery hours are 10:20 to 11:45.
