Sermon: "Noah"
In the beginning there was ... Genesis. The first book of the Hebrew Bible has many stories fundamental to the Judeo-Christian side of our heritage: Adam and Eve in the Garden, Abraham founding a new people, Isaac wrestling with God, and of course, Noah with his Ark surviving the flood. These stories were formative for religions, and also defined important pieces of Western culture. I will revisit Noah, going beyond what is most familiar in this story to examine underlying values and the creation of human expectations.
