Rev. Allen Harden
Sermon: "Truth and Race History"
In anticipation of MLK Day on Monday, I will try to address the information wars that now surround racial history in the United States, and how they have become
fully enmeshed in American politics and opinion formation. Truth and ideology vie for control of how we write our history, and the narratives we allow to be created
have far-reaching impacts.

3rd Friday Movie - The Seventh Seal

Friday, January 21: THE SEVENTH SEAL
7:00pm to 9:30pm; BUC Sanctuary
Exhausted and disillusioned, a medieval knight (Max von Sydow) makes the journey home after years of combat in the Crusades. But when the black-robed figure of Death confronts him, the knight challenges him to a game of chess. A powerful meditation on the existence of God and the meaning of life, this drama is considered one of Ingmar Bergman's best.

Discussion will follow the film; refreshments will be provided. Admission is free and open to all.

New Year Brunch

The Worship Committee will host a New Year Brunch for the congregation. We will toast the new year and enjoy each others' company. imagebrowser image
