What Can We Do?
(Reflection in an eccumenical worship service.)
Join religious and community leaders for a time of ecumenical worship where we will be inspired to take action that will lead us all toward peace. Our speakers will discuss the ways they are addressing violence in our communities, what works and what doesn't, and what concerned individuals can do to be part of the solution. Then we will join in prayer for the healing of our city.

Annual Winter Farmers Market and Fair Trade Marketplace

Our Annual Winter Farmers Market and Fair Trade Marketplace takes place at the Castle on Saturday, March 5thth from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We invite you to take this opportunity to shop for local, organically grown vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, and apples, as well as soup mixes, cheese, veggie burgers, cheesecake, frozen yogurt, ice cream, pastries, baked goods and other delicious food products. In addition, the Marketplace will offer fairly traded items from Africa, South America and other areas.
The market is co-sponsored by Faith in Place, to help small, local farmers extend their income beyond the growing season. We are still looking for volunteers to help set-up the site, greet etc. For more information or to volunteer, contact Fran Sowa (708)229-0390, frannevpk@yahoo.com.

Join us for our Christmas Ever service of carols, stories, candles and verse as we welcome this season of joy and hope. Marcia Curtis and Greg Lawler host a party filled with holiday joy and Marcia's baked goodies after the service. All are welcome to attend.

Join the Community of Churches for an evening of Teaching, Commemoration and Conversation about proclaiming into law the 13th Amendment, which abolished chattel slavery. This will be an opportunity to make connections with other people in our community who are interested in the issues we face in our time.

Kids 5 to 12 years old

Children aged five through twelve, who are fully vaccinated, are invited to attend the first part of the church service to hear "the story for all ages."  They will then leave to attend their UU Education classes, where everyone who is with them is fully vaccinated.
