Waste High with Electronics and Chemicals
The March 6th Household Hazardous Waste Collection service was a rousing success. At least 125 cars dropped off paint, chemicals, batteries, TVs, appliances and electronics. We filled up a 10 foot long U-Haul, a pick up truck and ten palletized boxes. Many, many thanks go out to the BUC people who helped out: Candace & Christian, Josh, Betsy, Beth, Lloyd, Sam & Susan, Bethany, Adrian, Jean, Char, Allan, Lyle and Fran.
Mucho Gracias to Beverly Bank & Trust and Alderman Ginger Rugai, whose financial support made this event a lot more gratifying. The Green Sanctuary Group is using the funds collected from donations for dropping off waste to finance TreeKeeper scholarships, worship service speakers, the electric charging station, educational forums and a trip to GA this June. We hope to involve more congregations in the future so that more residents are able to take advantage of this service.
Kids 5 to 12 years old
Children aged five through twelve, who are fully vaccinated, are invited to attend the first part of the church service to hear "the story for all ages." They will then leave to attend their UU Education classes, where everyone who is with them is fully vaccinated.
