Green Sanctuary Electronic & Hazardous Waste Collection
Beverly area residents can safely dispose of household electronic and hazardous house-hold waste from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, by bringing items to the parking lot of Morgan Park United Methodist Church located at 110th PL and Longwood Drive. The event is organized by the Green Sanctuary Group of Beverly Unitarian Church.
The following electronic items will be accepted: computers, monitors, printers, laptops, peripherals, cell phones and small televisions. The following hazardous household chemicals and items will be accepted: mercury-florescent bulbs, antifreeze, used motor oil, oil-based paints, gasoline, paint thinner, aerosol paints, hobby chemicals, car batteries, rechargeable batteries, lawn chemicals, solvents, drain cleaners, pool chemicals, hobby and photographic chemicals, mercury thermometers.
Note: we will also accept clean Styrofoam items for recycling (no packing peanuts). Textbooks and eyeglasses will continue to be accepted for reuse or recycling.
The following items will NOT be accepted: Freon, incandescent bulbs, appliances, alka-line batteries, bio-hazardous products, needles, latex, acrylic or water-based paints, caulk or cleaning products, or other water-soluble products.

We intend to continue to collect Household Hazardous Waste in October each year. The City of Chicago has set up drop off locations for electronics waste throughout the city. To learn more about this pilot program visit www.chicago.gov/hccrf .
