INTRODUCING OUR MINISTER The Board of Trustees of BUC has entered into a one-year contract for a half-time ministry with the Rev. Ana Levy-Lyons. This is how the Unitarian Universalist Community Church introduces Ana on its website, www.uuccpf.org: Ana is a newly-minted Unitarian Universalist minister who will be jointly serving Beverly Unitarian Church and the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Park Forest during the coming year. She brings a strong commitment to social and environmental justice and seeks to make activism and service central to her ministry. She also brings a great love of music and the spoken word to her worship services. She is a student of Jewish spiritual teachings as well as yogic and Hindu philosophy. Previous to her career in ministry, Ana was a singer-songwriter living in San Francisco. Her award-winning songs were glowingly reviewed in Billboard magazine and she produced one album entitled Hunger. To make a living during that time, Ana worked as a producer and account manager in Internet advertising, riding the dot.com wave until it crashed on the shore of reality in the late 90's. Ana was ordained at the Unitarian Church of Hinsdale, where she served as a ministerial intern for two years. Ana's MDiv is from the University of Chicago Divinity School and she has an undergraduate degree in music from Brown University. The Rev. Ana Levy-Lyons will start work with BUC on September 15, 2008. Her first Sunday Service with us will be September 28. On Sunday, September 21 she will join us for lunch after the service.
