Topic “Open Book Discussion”

"The South Side: A Portrait of Chicago and American Segregation"

On Monday, April 10th at 7:30 pm the Beverly Unitarian Church's Book Club is hosting the discussion of Natalie Moore's book at the church instead of in a participant's home. We are meeting at the church with hopes that members of our larger community will attend in an effort to raise awareness and heal our divides.
"The South Side is an exquisite exploration of a portion of Chicago that has long embodied the problems and promise of black America. Moore brings her considerable gifts as a journalist and historian to bear along with her knowledge as a South Side native. Moore's latest is essential to anyone attempting to understand race in Chicago, or most American of cities." (Ta-Nehisi Coates, author of Between the World and Me)
We will meet on the 2nd floor with apologies that the space is inaccessible. The first floor sanctuary will be in use so enter through the south stairway to not disturb.
