Castle Concert October 26

The Sons of the Never Wrong perform the first Castle Concert of the year at 7 pm on Saturday, October 26th. Being able to hear this fantastic group in the castle’s intimate setting promises to be a “do not miss it” event and we can all thank John and Julia Devens (Dyed in the Wool) for making it happen. In the late 90s, John kicked up Beverly’s music scene when he opened the World Folk Music Company (WFMC) for 13 years. For now, John’s energy is about “giving back” as he donates concert proceeds (a minimum $30 donation is recommended) to the Castle Restoration campaign. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.concertsatthecastle.org.

The singer/songwriter trio of The Sons of the Never Wrong are Chicago based. Their story begins in 1998 after a chance meeting at a Chicago Guitar Center. The three played local coffee shops for several months and another chance encounter (with Harry Waller) led them to play the WFMT Midnight Special New Year’s radio show hosted by Rich Warren. At the performance that night, Andrew Calhoun immediately offered them a recording contract with his Waterbug Records. The Sons played countless times live on Midnight Special and are often referred to as "Chicago's favorite folk group." They were recognized for being the only performers who had every track of their CD (King Fisher King) played on Midnight Special.
