Music

Although BUC is a small church we have a wealth of music resources. Our congregation includes a number of really good musicians for which we are very fortunate. We also have two outside professional pianists who play when our house musicians are unavailable.

There is an ad hoc choir that performs on a bi-monthly basis or so. We are working up to one Sunday a month and encourage anyone who likes to sing to join us.  For specific information about our next rehearsals please contact Jean Robinson at jean@jhrresources.com.

Jean Robinson is an enthusiastic amateur musician and BUC's Finance Chair. She went back to playing the piano a few years ago and re-activated the choir, much to the enjoyment of the congregation.

Greg Lawler is a math professor at University of Chicago who also plays guitar and sings. He is a member of the Worship Committee and is responsible for scheduling the musicians for Sunday services.

Renee Wilson is a professional harpist whose husband, Peter Jirousek, is a professional French horn player. Renee has a website, http://www.harp123.com, where she can be contacted for engagements. She and her family are active members of the church where she is responsible for the sanctuary decorations.

Beth Adams has a degree in music, plays the piano, sings and often includes her own compositions in the services.  She has two children, Marisa and Jabari, who is in her arms in this photo.

Joyce O'Meara is BUC's "pianist emeritus," having played the piano for BUC's Sunday services over 15 years. She is a professional cellist and performed with the Southwest Symphony for many years.
