SUNDAY August 30 ~ 10:30 AM

Guest in the Pulpit: Rev. Karen Mooney
We welcome back Rev. Karen, preaching on "The Extraordinary Lives of Ordinary Women" -- we walk in life with a long line of people. Our families the communities we live and work within help to form us. When calamity hits and our priorities and beliefs, what we truly have faith in, is laid bare before us what will we see?

The Rev. Karen Mooney is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist who grew up in rural(ish) Wisconsin. She learned the art of church from her parents who were very involved in the Mequon congregation where they were members for over 50 year. She worked in ministry for 3.5 years working with the Unitarian Universalist Prison Ministries of IL. Building an organization that brings the UU faith and its values to people impacted by the prison industrial complex. She was honored to offer circles of care for those locked up in prisons and jails and supporting all those affected by the wide net of incarceration. She currently is serving as the Sabbatical Minister for UU Advocacy Network of IL and as the Congregational Life Director at the Unitarian Church of Evanston. Karen claims to have been educated far and wide by working and playing, listening and walking with people. Ultimately she loves that UU communities are places where you find people who are alive and seeking throughout their lives.
